Biwase received a loan of USD 20 million from ADB and JICA to produce Compost
On the afternoon of December 9, Binh Duong Water-Environment Joint Stock Company held a ceremony to sign a contract for a government-guaranteed loan with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Cooperation Agency. Japan International (JICA). According to the contract, Biwase is entitled to a concessional loan of USD 20 million, including USD 7 million from ADB's ordinary capital sources, and USD 6 million from Asia's leading private sector infrastructure fund funded by ADB. management and a parallel loan of 7 million USD from JICA to serve the project of Compost factory with capacity of 840 tons/day, garbage incinerator with capacity of 200 tons/day with generating capacity of 5MW/hour. When the project is completed, 2,520 tons/day will be classified, filtered, sorted and recycled, and the rest will be burned, burned, and used heat to generate electricity with a capacity of 5MW/h.
Mr. Nguyen Van Thien, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Biwase, said that the Garbage Treatment Complex receives over 2,500 tons of domestic waste per day and over 300 tons of industrial waste. After 3 times of increasing the capacity of separating, filtering and classifying organic waste to make compost, the capacity is now 1,700 tons/day and the burning capacity is 200 tons/day.

This capacity increase project will reach a screening capacity of 2,500 tons/day, 100% of domestic waste is sorted recycled as organic fertilizer. The waste incinerator with a capacity of 200 tons/day takes advantage of the heat source to generate electricity, contributing to reducing the volume of landfills. While the price of inorganic fertilizer increased, Biwase made efforts to produce cheap organic fertilizer for the southern market.
