Based on Decision No. 2286/QD-UBND dated July 07, 2020, of the People's Committee of Long An Province regarding the approval of the adjustment project for the Long An Province Water Supply Planning to 2030, with a vision to 2050; the water supply service area implemented by Nhi Thanh Surface Water Plant - Biwase - Long An Water Joint Stock Company.

This zone encompasses all urban areas and industrial zones/clusters located east of the Vam Co Dong River, along with a portion of the former Duc Hue District. The specific scope of Zone 1 includes:

Dong Thanh Town and Truong Hai International Industrial Park, former Duc Hue District;

On June 19, 2025, BIWASE Can Tho Water Joint Stock Company officially inaugurated and commissioned Can Tho 3 Water Plant with a capacity of 50,000 m³/day.
