BIWASE MASTERS WASTE-TO-ENERGY TECHNOLOGY AHEAD OF THE INAUGURATION OF THE CAPACITY EXPANSION PROJECT
Following the initial investment phase, Biwase is now in the final stage of commissioning the capacity expansion project for the Nam Binh Duong Solid Waste Treatment Complex – Phase 4.
In an interview with reporters from the Investment Newspaper regarding the progress of the capacity expansion project for the Nam Binh Duong Solid Waste Treatment Complex – Phase 4, Mr. Ngo Chi Thang, Director of the Nam Binh Duong Solid Waste Treatment Complex under Binh Duong Water and Environment Corporation Joint Stock Company (Biwase, stock code BWE), shared: “The newly constructed plant has successfully procured equipment, and the entire staff has completed the installation, operation, and stable testing. The inauguration is scheduled for January 12, 2024. Alongside the waste-to-energy technology, the company plans to continue investing in additional technologies with even greater capacity to further enhance the incineration capacity.
The company is pleased to announce that its staff has successfully mastered waste-to-energy technology, a critical achievement. This is especially significant when compared to other projects nationwide, where facilities, despite being completed, remain non-operational due to a lack of technological expertise. Such shortcomings have led to unresolved issues and inefficiencies, resulting in unnecessary waste.

At the Nam Binh Duong Solid Waste Treatment Complex, Biwase has invested in the construction of a recycling plant that produces organic compost, generates electricity through waste incineration, and recycles ash from waste incineration into bricks.
The capacity expansion project for the Nam Binh Duong Solid Waste Treatment Complex – Phase 4 has a total investment of 835 billion VND (over 34.4 million USD). This project includes a waste sorting facility with a capacity of 840 tons per day for organic compost production, as well as an incineration plant combined with electricity generation, which has a burning capacity of 200 tons per day and a power generation capacity of 5 MW.
Upon completion of the expansion, the total invested capacity of the waste treatment complex will reach 250,000 tons per day, with an actual receiving capacity of 230,000 tons per day. This ensures Biwase’s ability to manage and treat all waste efficiently, with additional capacity to accommodate future increases in waste volume.
Additionally, Biwase will expedite the process of compensation, support, and land clearance for approximately 400 hectares designated for the construction of the Nam Long Solid Waste Treatment Complex in Tan Long Commune, Phu Giao District, Binh Duong Province.
