Responding to World Environment Day (June 5^th), on June 2^nd, Di An People's Committee held an 2019 Environment Day. Delegation included Mr. Mai Hung Dung, Member of the Provincial Standing Committee, Vice Director of the Provincial People's Committee; Leaders of Department of Natural Resources and Environment and over 500 delegates representing communes, wards, neighborhoods, enterprises and workers residing in the area.

Along with the process of industrialization and urbanization, the increase and diversity of population has made environmental protection in Di An Town more difficult and challenging. Besides, there are still organizations and individuals who have not promoted the sense of environmental protection; they secretly discharged waste water, waste gas and untreated waste into the environment; and are not fully aware of the contents of the signed garbage collection contract. In order to rectify the above situation and well implement the environmental protection, Di An Town People's Committee urged agencies, businesses, households and individuals to take action together and commit to a clean, safe and sustainable living environment via many practical actions promoting the theme "Air pollution and our actions".

Many organizations and businesses contributed via specific actions/projects such as: Clearing pollution points - Turning garbage dumps into flower gardens; collecting solid waste in exchange for necessities; turning waste into useful product.

Mr. Mai Hung Dung highly appreciated the efforts to improve the environment of the government authorities in Di An, praised the ways of creative, effective, positive contribution to environmental protection and improvement of living quality. Natural resources and environment sectors, big organizations continue to promote and expand useful models and positive factors to continue spreading beautiful actions; and build Binh Duong to become a civilized and modern city.
