WELCOME DELEGATION OF LIBERAL DEMOCRATIC PARTY - THE SHIZUOKA PREFECTURAL ASSEMBLY TO VISIT AND WORK AT BIWASE

02 12-2025

On the morning of October 21, 2025, Mr. Nguyen Van Thien, Chairman of the Board of Directors, along with the BIWASE leadership team, welcomed the Delegation of Council Members from the Liberal Democratic Party Group of the Shizuoka Prefectural Assembly, led by Mr. Kazuhiko Suzuki.

The visit aimed to enhance understanding and promote regional cooperation toward the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

During the working session, Chairman Nguyen Van Thien shared initiatives regarding facility management and operation. Both sides highly appreciated the results of the technical cooperation project between Shizuoka City and BIWASE, supported by JICA. A notable example is the Wastewater Collection and Treatment Project in the Thu Dau Mot area, with a capacity of 17,500 m³/day and a total foreign investment of 110 million USD. The project has been operational since 2013, is currently running at full capacity, and has been expanded to double its capacity (35,000 m³/day) using domestic funds.

At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Van Thien – Chairman of the Board of Directors of BIWASE, expressed his sincere gratitude to the Delegation of the Shizuoka Prefectural Assembly for their interest and for taking the time to visit and learn about BIWASE's operations, contributing to further strengthening the cooperative and friendly relationship between the two sides.

Immediately following the meeting, the delegation visited the Complex Water Plant and the BIWASE Wastewater and Drainage One Member Limited Company. This entity was formerly known as the Thu Dau Mot Wastewater Treatment Plant—the first domestic wastewater treatment project in Binh Duong Province funded by the Japanese Government. Here, the delegation highly appreciated the organization, management, and operation capabilities of the plant, noting its civilized, modern, and environmentally friendly approach. They also expressed confidence that the project would continue to contribute to the sustainable development of the province.

Concluding the visit, Mr. Nguyen Van Thien expressed his desire to welcome the delegation back in the future and wished for the friendly and cooperative relationship between the two parties to grow increasingly strong and prosperous.
