A Workshop on new Technologies & Applications For Water and Wastewater Systems in Viet Nam held by Vietnam Water Supply and Sewerage Association (VWSA) and South East Asian Water Utilities Network (SEAWUN) was taken place at Melia Hotel, Hanoi, on July 26th, 2013.
Invited honourable guests to the workshop are Mr. Cao Lai Quang-Deputy Minister of Construction, Chairman of VWSA, Mr. Noupheak Virabouth – SEAWUN’s President; Mr.Nguyen Van Thien – SEAWUN’s Executive Director, BIWASE’s General Director and many Leaders from management organizations under MOC, MPI and water utilities of Viet Nam and Laos, DPR.

Many presentations introducing new technologies and advanced products which have successfully been being applied in Viet Nam have made good impressiveness to scientists, leaders of utilities functioning in water and waste water sector such as: using dual media rapid sand filter in water treatment plant, pre-oxidation solution for water quality improvement; system for networks management; Integrated solutions GIS–SCADA–WaterGEMS for non-revenue water reduction and network management optimization, intelligent pressure controlling valve BERMAD; Centralized Wastewater Treatment Plant – Solutions from Huber, Germany and ect. . .
It is really an interesting workshop with lots of questions relating to presentations of speakers raisen by participants. They were very interested in finding more details of these new technologies so as to apply in their water and waste water treatment plants. However, due to limited time, participants were kindly requested to directly contact with speakers or attend some next workshops to get more information on these new technologies.
This workshop continues affirming roles of SEAWUN in bridging relationship for businesses, companies in water supply and sewerage sector throughout Viet Nam for purpose of experience and initiative exchange and shareness on new technologies and applications at water and waste water systems, aiming to sustainable development of Vietnam water supply and environmental sector.
